Burma Road was an important part of China during WWII. It was a gravel road with forest all around it. They used the road to get supplies to China to defend themselves from Japan when they were attacking. The 712 mile road starts in Lashiao, Berma and ends in Southwest China. This was one of the main targets for Japan during the war because if they got rid of the road, they could easily defeat the Chinese empire. But in April 1942, the Japanese took over most of Burma and the road was closed. The allies weren't able to respond until 1944 when India came to help and constructed a new road from India to China that connected to a part of Burma road that was still ran by China. And in 1945 the road was reopened and was able to get supplies to China once again.
